New Paint Colours For 2022
Hello and Happy New Year and what better way to bring in the new year by looking at the new paint colours for 2022! Having just taken down the Christmas tree and decorations, everywhere looks so bare, on top of that, the days have been cold and gloomy I feel an injection of colour is just the thing to lift our spirits up.
Let's start with colour experts Pantone and their new paint colour for 2022! Introducing - Very Peri.
I'm always intrigued when Pantone, the world's colour experts, announce their colour of the year and the global trend analysis behind it. Very Peri is the name and you're about to see this everywhere.
"For 23 years, Pantone’s Color of the Year has influenced product development and purchasing decisions in multiple industries, including fashion, home furnishings, and industrial design, as well as product packaging and graphic design."

New Paint Colours for 2022
So what else is in store for us in the world of paint colours this year. According to the experts we are seeing a trend for stronger, more saturated colours - that's a yes from me, we could all do with some colour in our lives
Let's have a look at these colours and how we will be using them which is just as important as the colour itself. I love how you can transform the look and size of a room with how you apply colour.

Crown have come up with a trend called Liminal, featuring a palette of chalky greens and aqua shades which will be perfect for layering your scheme around.
Surrounding the home in lush greens brings us closer to nature, green has always been an easy colour to live with and perhaps more than ever we want to feel calm and relaxed in our homes.
To be honest I have an aversion to some greens, ironically the sickly green colour used in doctor's waiting rooms or hospitals just make me feel ill, yellow greens or bright green just doesn't do it for me. But I am absolutely embracing these deep lush greens that are popping up everywhere.

Perfect Pink - Can you believe pink is still going strong. Not the sugary tones of millennial pink but more of an earthy, sophisticated approach to pink. You know I love a hint of earthy pink which really complements the dark forest greens.

Warm red tones are being introduced in new colours for 2022. Although the deep navy blues have taken centre stage for some time now, there's a shift towards the warmer tones of reds and plums and pairing them with greens for a lux look.

Restorative neutrals - I've been using almond toned neutrals and truffle shades rather than the cooler grey scale and will continue these colours for 2022 for restful living spaces. I find these also work well with the bolder deep colours in contrast.
New Paint Colours For 2022 And How We Can Apply Them
How we use paint colours is changing too. We are becoming more confident when applying colour with a trend according to experts, called 'Colour Drenching'. This method replaces the traditional white skirting board with mid strength tones in a colour closely related, to create a dramatic effect.
Using tone on tone colour is a continuing trend from 2021. I particularly like this method of using a deep saturated colour on walls and skirting especially in a bedroom, this instantly relaxes you, wrapping you in feelings of warmth and security.

Colour Comfort
We still crave comforting colours in our homes in shades that make us feel grounded and safe. Pairing green with key colours like tan, and peachy earth tones.
Do you feel inspired by any of the new colours for 2022? Maybe you've already embraced some of them. I think it's something to look forward to and maybe even pushes us out of our comfort zone and I think that's a good thing.
